Presentation

Each gram powder contains Gentamicin Sulfate BP equivalent to Gentamicin 200 mg.

Description

Gentamicin is a powerful broad-spectrum aminoglycoside bactericidal antibiotic act through preventing protein synthesis. It is active against wide range gram positive and gram-negative bacteria. Gentamicin is slowly absorbed in the gastro intestinal tract but predominantly active (Locally) against gastro intestinal tract infections.

Indications

Poultry: It is highly effective against different diseases caused by wide range of gram (+) ve and gram (-) ve bacteria like, Salmonellosis, Colibacillosis, Pasteurellosis, Infectious Coryza, Enteritis, CRD, CCRD, Early chick mortality (due to bacterial infection) and secondary bacterial infection in viral diseases.

Cattle, Sheep, Goat and buffalo: It is used for Pyometra, Hemorrhagic septicemia, PPR, Respiratory tract infection and Urinary tract infections.

Dosage & Administration

Poultry: 5-10 mg/kg body weight or 1 gm/ 2 Liters of drinking water for 3-5 days.
Cattle, Sheep, Goat and Buffalo: 3 gm/ 20 kg body weight twice daily for 3-5 days.
Or as directed by the registered veterinarian.

Side Effects

Prolonged intake in higher dose may cause neurotoxicity, nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity.

Withdrawal Period

Meat & Egg: 7 days
