Desocort Cream: Each gram Cream contains Desoximetasone USP 2.5 mg.
Desoximetasone is a corticosteroid having anti-inflammatory, anti-pruritic and vasoconstrictive actions.
Desocort Cream is indicated for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.
Apply a thin film of DesocortTMCream to the affected skin areas twice daily. Rub in gently.
Burning, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneiform eruptions, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, maceration of the skin, skin atrophy, striae and miliaria. Adverse reactions are infrequent with topical Desoximetasone, but may occur frequently with the use of occlusive dressings.
This medication is for external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. The treated skin area should not be bandaged or covered or wrapped unless directed by the physician. The patient should report any sign of local adverse reactions especially under occlusive dressing to the physician.
There is no adequate and well-controlled study of desoximetasone in pregnant women. It should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefits justifies the potential risks to the fetus. It is not known whether topical administered desoximetasone could result in sufficient systemic absorption to produce detectable quantities in breast milk. Nevertheless, caution should be exercised when topical corticosteroids are administered to a nursing woman.
Desocort TM Cream is not for oral use. If oral ingestion occurs, seek medical advice immediately. Monitor patient closely and administer appropriate supportive measures as necessary.
Do not store above 30 0C. Keep away from light and out of the reach of children.
